I bought some kaleidoscope sunglasses last year and I can’t stop taking pictures through them. Not like the poppy fields need any more color added to them…oh well I did it anyways…
We woke up bright and early to drive out to the Antelope Valley poppy fields for sunrise and it was SO WORTH IT! Sunrise was magical, orange is my favorite color, everything was just perfect I couldn’t contain my excitement. Here are just a few of my favorites, a mixture of digital and 35mm…
This place is a dream! Amy from Stay Rewilded created the most vibrant little paradise in the depths of DTLA. She has lived and travelled all over the globe and found this cozy cubby to fill with her treasures. When she’s not staying in the loft and traveling (which is a lot) she rents it out as a shoppable airbnb…yes you can try on all the glorious clothes, feel the textiles on your skin and actually go home with them! This was such an inspiring place to shoot, every inch is thoughtfully designed and visually bewitching. Thanks to the team for filling this already crazy positive place with more joy:
Wow, what a trip! One week traveling in Jordan and I can’t believe how much we experienced. I brought along two rolls of Fuji 400h and one b&w Ilford 3200 (not yet developed, haven’t finished off the roll yet). Here’s a glimpse of our magical mystical trip…
I absolutely adore working with P. S. Science! We’ve been shooting together for years now and I always leave their events (well usually classrooms) with a huge smile. They bring SCIENCE to elementary school classrooms and make learning incredibly FUN for the kids. While I’m usually documenting the giant smiles on kids faces, this night I was lucky enough to document adults enjoying science in the same way! The fundraiser was a huge success (and I was a huge success because I was able to pull the tablecloth out from under some plates without a spill…just one of the many science themed activities you’ll see below).
If you are looking for a worthy organization to support you’ve found it! Check out their WEBSITE to see how you can help.
The fundraiser was held at Boomtown Brewery, take a look at their awesome event space…
That’s me in the last photo! I actually got a picture of myself, a VERY rare occurrence.
See that little babe up there? That’s Lila ❀ the beautiful new addition to this beautiful family. We had such a fun time playing around on the beach outside of the Jonathan Club on this sunny summer day. The sand crabs were a big hit, it took me back to the days when I used to hunt for them as a kid. Oh the joys of summer, family, and makin memories – thanks for all the fun in the sun Daniell!
D’Angeles and Evelyn…what a loving and fun and rambunctious and crazy beautiful duo. We had a gorgeous summer portrait session together to document their mother daughter bond in the gardens of Pasadena. Luckily we scheduled our session before the massive heat wave last week, the weather was perfect and the photos turned out pretty perfect too. Take a look!
It was my 30th birthday at the beginning of May! I decided to get out of town to celebrate and visit this little mountain town I had been hearing so much about. San Miguel de Allende, the magic is real.
All of these were taken on my iphone and edited with VSCO
Mama Mia Restaurant | Those lanterns…We stumbled into a live salsa band here Saturday night too.
He didn’t bark at us, whatta good boy.
View from the 2nd terrace of our airbnb. Such a sweet spot!
A man from the coffee shop next door (Café Eluney, mmm those quesadillas) gave us a tour of this hidden gem of an alley. Wish I could remember the name…go ask them if you visit!
El Tupinamba | Any time we walked past this place there was live music and a fun atmosphere. We stopped in for Flamenco night, such good vibes and a passionate performance by the first male flamenco dancer I’ve ever seen.
We told the taxi driver to take us to his favorite taco place. We could not stop eating these. A hole in the wall near the main square, go find her!
Lavanda Café | A very popular breakfast spot, live guitar music, just swell.
I just loved this town and these beautiful people I got to experience it with. We didn’t have time to visit Guanajuato, that’s #1 on the list for next time. Also…blog post on the Chapel of Jimmy Ray coming soon!!
