Magic hour with these lovelies! We ventured to the South Bay to catch the sunset and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Lila loved the beach and the film camera loved Lila (she takes after her mama). Shot with Porta 400 + Ilford HP5 400.

Meet Kiyoshi! The cutest little nugget living in Brooklyn. On my way to a cabin upstate I had time to drop in, say hello for the first time, and capture some sweet little moments. Matt and Kimiyo…you did good.

The more I shoot with film the more I adore it! Caroline was such a lovely subject, she had been taking film photography in high school and wanted her senior portraits to be taken with film. I jump for joy when anyone requests 35mm :)

Born and raised in LA and I had never witnessed any of the Day of the Dead parades on Olvera Street. This year I set the date on my calendar and headed out with my Canon AE1 and a roll of Porta 400 film. Oh what a sight it was to behold…

I was so excited to try out my new film camera with FIRE HOOPING! Katie Rose is a serious superstar when it comes to all things flow. Oh, and ridiculously brave. I don’t know how she dances with hot flames that close to her body and keeps her cool. Do you see her expressions? Not even a trace of unease. Such a fun shoot, thanks for sharing your evening and art with me Katie!

I keep ending up in NY! One of my favorite people lives there (hi Sarah) and it was her birthday last weekend. We had a big campout celebration at her cabin with two other friends with close birthdays plus maybe 15 more people from Brooklyn and Albany. We were all forced to unplug from our devices – no service for miles and it was kind of awesome! Here is what my camera saw…

Yes, the film photography adventure continues…and it really never disappoints. Such a fun and unexpected shoot with Karla! We were supposed to shoot at the pink houses in Mid-City LA, an impermanent art project where someone spray painted three houses hot pink that were due for demolition (more info here – https://la.curbed.com/2017/6/12/15782818/mid-city-pink-houses-m-rad-public-art). When I arrived the houses were painted white and covered with no trespassing signs (and a large sign saying “EYESORE”). Neighbors must’ve been a little upset about the pink tourist attraction. We decided to go ahead with the shoot anyways, pink flowers…pink houses… close enough! I adore the photos we captured…
