They were running late from a weekend trip, we almost ended up rescheduling but I’m so glad we didn’t! With 20 minutes left of sun we had a fun little mini session :)

I was camouflaging as a tourist, just enjoying the view of the city and snapping photos with my fancy camera. I was worried Gina would spot me and suspect something…but she didn’t even know I was there until Alex pointed me out after the proposal had been done for quite some time! Proposals are so surreal, a magic mist of surprise/excitement/confusion surrounds the couple. I probably could have been inches away and not been noticed. On the other hand, their dog knew I was there the whole time. Enjoy this surprise proposal and family gathering!
I did not even realize I caught the champagne flying in the air, so happy I did.

The plan was Central Park…but as the weekend approached the temperature dropped and we had to think of a different plan. We agreed on Grand Central Station and I am oh so happy we did! The travels of strangers painted the backdrop of each image, it was magic.

This was an amazing day! I met Darin and Darren at the Williamsburg Waterfront to take their engagement photos. From there we jumped in a cab and headed to the bar where they had their first date. AND THEN THEY GOT MARRIED! They will have their official wedding with family and friends next year but they signed the paperwork and were officially hitched. We shared drinks after the small ceremony (the “sharknado” which was the drink they had on their first date) and just enjoyed the sun setting on the bustling New York City streets. One of my favorite moments in New York so far, life is magical.

I got to shoot with these tattooed beauties a couple weeks ago. They had just returned from driving across country working as elves for the holidays (that sentence pretty much tells you how amazing they are) and threw their clothes in a suitcase to come shoot with me! These guys are serious rockstars – that will be the most obvious statement ever after you see the photos below.

I’ve shot with these lovelies for years and every shoot day has been filled with bright blue skies and perfect weather. Last week we met up at the Griffith Observatory to TOTAL cloud coverage…but we embraced it! Why not something new, eh? Playing in the clouds turned out pretty amazing if you ask me…
This might be my last blog post for a bit, holidays and travel plans soon to come.
I will be in Brooklyn next year from the end of January to the end of April, message me to set up a snow shoot! Or if you have any tips for surviving winter in NYC!

I have been so very eager to share this day in the life session! Today is the day!
Heidi and and her son Zoli allowed me into their home for a day to capture their typical routines, their moments together that usually go unseen by the outside world. These moments are oh so precious and fleeting, it is a dream come true for me to do this type of meaningful documentation.
